WHY A PAWN SHOP IN DECENTRALAND?
Wearables are part of how we show up in Decentraland. But tastes change, collections grow, and items can sit in wallets long after their owners stop wearing them. We think they deserve another chance.
GoldTicket brings the spirit of a neighborhood thrift shop and a physical pawn store to digital fashion: a place to pass on what you no longer use, discover something unexpected, and stretch a smaller budget. Our current shop lets you sell eligible wearables for GoldTickets (GTIX), browse available inventory, or donate a wearable.
THE COMMUNITY BENEFIT
A wearable you don’t use can still have a future. We add another route for eligible items to move between owners, alongside Decentraland’s existing marketplace—like secondhand shops do for clothes in the physical world.
Completed trades add wearable transactions to the ecosystem. More importantly, finding a new look gives people a reason to revisit their collections, explore other designs, and get excited about wearing them again. Our aim is useful exchanges between people.
We commit 50% of positive realized profit from selling donated items, after costs, to GiveDirectly through Endaoment. Our public donation history shows recorded contributions, processing fees, fund credits, and transaction receipts.
See the donation record →Not everyone can spend on premium wearables. A secondhand selection gives budget-conscious residents another way to build a look, and lets owners put eligible trade-ins toward something different with GTIX. Prices and availability vary by item.
Our take: a creative world needs places to rediscover its older work, not just places to launch new items. A secondhand shop can introduce people to creators they missed, help newcomers experiment with their identity, and turn collecting into a more social activity.
That is the kind of value we want to add: more use, more discovery, and more ways to take part.
LESS CLUTTER. MORE POSSIBILITY.
The glut of common, lower-demand, or less polished wearables can make a collection feel like clutter. We give owners a way to move eligible items out of their wallets and give other residents a chance to enjoy them. One person’s castoff can be another person’s first outfit, costume, or unexpected favorite.
We don’t burn wearables or claim to reduce their total supply. Our contribution is to put existing items to use, make discovery easier, and create a more accessible second market.
GOOD DEEDS, WITH RECEIPTS
Donating a wearable transfers it to the shop’s dedicated donation inventory. It is separate from a cash contribution to charity. When donated items sell and generate positive realized profit, our giving commitment applies.
Contributions follow settlement and cost reconciliation. A sale, profit, minimum gift, or payment date is not guaranteed. The policy may change for future donations; changes do not reduce commitments for items already donated. Fund credits and later charity payouts are distinct.
