PAWN SHOP PARTY · POLYGON MAINNET

The Lantern Fleet

Twelve ships. Twelve stories. One last sunrise.

The Lantern Fleet is an original Polygon mainnet ERC-1155 project test collection with uncapped owner-controlled editions. Controlled project trades are tests, not evidence of market demand or cash value.

Ten of each ship are issued to Ohmslaw’s wallet. Three extra copies of the Solstice Courier are reserved for the controlled shop test. Collection administration uses the project’s dedicated production wallet.

The Solstice Courier

Read the captain’s log

On the morning the stars began to go out, Iona stole a sunrise. She trapped its first seven seconds inside an amber canister and launched before the mountain observatory dissolved into night. Now the Solstice Courier runs ahead of the Lantern Fleet, unfolding its golden wings wherever the darkness grows thickest. The canister could power the engines for a century. Iona refuses to open it. One day the fleet will find a world with a real horizon, and she intends to give its children their first morning. Until then, she navigates by the light leaking through the lid.

CHAPTER 2 OF 12

Cathedral of Tides

Read the captain’s log

Mara was a harbor pilot before she became captain of an ocean. When Pelagos froze during the Long Dimming, her crew lifted its last living reef into three glass chambers and taught the whales to sleep between jumps. The Cathedral of Tides now carries storms, shipwrecks, plankton and one very territorial octopus. Every voyage begins with a tide report. Every death is answered by a whale song. The fleet considers Mara's water its most precious resource; she considers it a passenger. She has promised to deliver the sea intact, including the waves that never learned how to be still.

The Moth Librarian

Read the captain’s log

The archive could save the empire's laws or its people's memories. Senn chose the lullabies. Beneath the Moth Librarian's violet wings are recipes, first kisses, bad jokes, railway announcements and the names of pets nobody else remembers. Its sails turn starlight into searchable dreams. Each night Senn lends one memory to every ship in the fleet, asking only that the borrower add a sentence of their own. Somewhere inside the growing archive is a child's drawing of a world with two moons. Bellwether Nine thinks the drawing might be a map. Senn thinks it might be both.

CHAPTER 4 OF 12

Cinder Saint

Read the captain’s log

Rook's ship was built to retrieve broken mining equipment, which is why nobody asked him to retrieve a dying star. He went anyway. The Cinder Saint returned with its paint blistered away and a sunseed cradled between its salvage claws: a star small enough to carry, young enough to be frightened. It flares whenever the fleet argues and settles when the Moth Librarian plays a lullaby. Rook sleeps beside the containment console with his boots on. The seed will need a home, fuel and several thousand years of patience. For the first time, the fleet has something worth waiting that long to see.

Bellwether Nine

Read the captain’s log

Eight Bellwethers vanished trying to chart the silent reaches. The ninth brought a musician. Ada discovered that the empty sky was not silent at all: its gravitational tides repeated a melody hidden in the archive's oldest lullaby. Her three listening hoops stretch that faint refrain into a road. She steers by pitch, corrects course by rhythm and distrusts any route that resolves too neatly. At the end of the song lies a missing note. The fleet follows her toward it, even when the charts insist there is nothing there. Ada keeps a seat beside her for whoever first sang the tune.

The Velvet Comet

Read the captain’s log

Vesper once stole jewels. Her final robbery was more ambitious: she stole tomorrow from the imperial clock. Hidden inside the Velvet Comet is one unused day, wound tight around a brass spindle. Every customs beacon in the dead empire still broadcasts her description. When the fleet entered a collapsing jump corridor, she spent eleven minutes of her impossible cargo to hold the exit open. She never mentioned the cost. There are twenty-three hours and forty-nine minutes left. Vesper intends to spend them at a very ordinary breakfast on a world where nobody has heard of her, preferably with all eleven other captains at the table.

CHAPTER 7 OF 12

Orchard at Midnight

Read the captain’s log

Jun packed the rarest seeds first. Then her daughter asked whether dandelions were coming, and the manifest changed. The Orchard at Midnight carries breadfruit, moss, stubborn weeds, an embarrassing number of apples and the soil beneath a grandmother's porch. Its glass domes keep their own seasons; walking from bow to stern takes a person from spring to winter. When morale fails, Jun opens the summer compartment and lets the fleet smell rain. One tree refuses to blossom under artificial light. She saves it a place beside the Solstice Courier's canister, convinced the two are waiting for the same morning.

CHAPTER 8 OF 12

Little Thunder

Read the captain’s log

The smallest vessel in the Lantern Fleet is towing the largest thing anyone has ever tried to move. Pip found the shattered gate at the edge of a dead system and decided that a broken door was still better than a wall. Little Thunder's engines were designed for dock work. They complain constantly, in a language only Pip seems to understand. Every ship has donated a spare part; the resulting machine is held together by excellent welding and questionable promises. If the gate opens, it may lead to the world in Senn's archive. If it does not, Pip says it will make a spectacular town square.

Mirrorwake spaceship
CHAPTER 9 OF 12

Mirrorwake

Read the captain’s log

Mirrorwake does not hide by becoming invisible. It teaches the universe to look somewhere else. Neri angles its silver facets until twelve fleeing ships resemble twelve ordinary stars, then carries their shadows in the dark seam between the hulls. Once a patrol came close enough to see her face reflected in its own instruments. She smiled, and it followed the reflection into an empty system. The deception has a price: Neri can no longer remember which constellation was hers. Each evening the other captains invent a new one for her. She pretends to dislike the names and records every single one.

CHAPTER 10 OF 12

Ghost of Meridian

Read the captain’s log

Eli joined the fleet tomorrow and has been traveling with it for six years. The Ghost of Meridian slipped through a fracture in time carrying maps of journeys that never happened. Its crescent ribs hum whenever the fleet approaches a choice it has already regretted. Eli cannot reveal the future; speaking a certainty erases it. Instead he gives small, infuriating advice: keep the broken kettle, answer the late transmission, let the gardener sit by the window. On the bridge hangs a photograph of all twelve captains standing under two moons. One corner is blank. Eli hopes it is waiting for him.

CHAPTER 11 OF 12

Ember Parliament

Read the captain’s log

Tala refused to preserve a throne. Instead she rescued the assembly hall, including its cracked benches, unruly delegates and the kettle that had ended three constitutional crises. Ember Parliament turns slowly through the dark while its passengers argue about the world they have not yet found. Who owns the first shoreline? What should a new calendar remember? Are dandelions invasive if everyone is a newcomer? The debates sometimes keep Rook's sunseed awake. Yet every distress call receives the same unanimous answer: make room. Tala says a civilization is not the laws it carries, but the strangers it is still willing to welcome.

CHAPTER 12 OF 12

The Last Porchlight

Read the captain’s log

Oren's ship was a roadside station before there were no roads left. He fitted engines beneath the guest rooms and followed the fleet with the porchlight burning. At the gate's far side they found a blue world beneath two moons. Mara lowered an ocean. Jun planted the stubborn tree. Iona opened her canister, and its seven seconds of sunlight met a real dawn. Nobody agreed on a name for the planet. Tala scheduled a meeting; Vesper ordered breakfast. Oren left the beacon on. There might be other ships still searching, and after everything they had survived, the fleet knew exactly how a welcome should look.
